Epsilon Crisis

Epsilon Crisis is a 3rd person bullet-hell action shooter, where you fight massive robots as a small robot with a special grapple arm, made in 1 month for the Boss Rush Jam 2024. Swap weapons with your enemies to gain their advantages, or to give them your disadvantages. Dodge and grapple through sheets of bullets with fluid momentum-driven movement.

Epsilon Crisis takes place in the far future, after a war between humans and robots, ended in the extinction of mankind. Desolate remains of civilization now in ruin, with numerous sentries now roaming the lands with no purpose left to fulfill. You have awoken for a reason. Find your purpose.

About the game:

As this game was made in 1 month, I only had enough time to make a few simple bosses, each ranging in difficulty and complexity. Each boss should take 2-5 minutes to complete.

This game features 2 chapters:
Each chapter includes 3 levels, including the tutorial level in Prologue. Each level contains, or ends in, a boss.

This game features various weapons, each with unique traits. You can not reload, so choose which enemies to swap with wisely. Good swap timing is crucial.

All assets (aside from the fog and water, and a few SFX) were made by me. I'm not too proud of the music, but I think I did pretty good for my first time making breakcore(?) :)

Inspiration from: Evangelion, Armored Core, Returnal, Nier, Ultrakill, Blame!, etc.

Controls: (no controller as of now)

- WASD: Movement
- SPACE: Jump (Release for shorter jump, Hold for longer)
- LSHIFT: Dash (Consumes stamina, air/ground ok, no invincibility)
- RCLICK: Grapple (any surface ok, WASD to influence move direction, SPACE to cancel, consumes stamina while grappling)
-- RCLICK: Swap Weapon (Grapple at a weapon to swap your current weapon, works on enemies) (Aim assist for weapon grappling, precision for movement)
- LCLICK: Shoot Weapon
- R: Charge Stamina (Consumes 30% ammo, restores 40% stamina)

(no you can not wall-run)

System Requirements:

I have an Nvidia GTX 1060 3gb, 16gb RAM and it runs 144+fps on best settings. There are other graphics options.

I had a lot of fun making this game, and I intend on continuing development, so hopefully I can spice combat up so it isn't just "run and gun".
